Abstract (EN)

In this study, developmental biology of Pezothrips kellyanus (Bagnall) on 22 and 27 oC was determined as 20.4 and 11.0 days, respectively. Adult longevity of females were also determined as 28.4 and 21.5 days, respectively. Total number of laying eggs were 22.1 on 22 oC and 19.5 on 27 oC, and there is no differences between means. In all locality and plant groups, 12 thrips species in flovers, and 12 species and specimens belong to 7 genus on sticky traps were found. The most common species were Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande) (total of 452 adults) in flowers and Thrips major (total of 1860 adults) on sticky traps. Maximum P. kellyanus population was determined in lemon orchards in Arsuz. F. occidentalis in Yenice and T. major in Kozan were found as the most common species. On sticky traps, Hymenopteran species were the most common group, and no parasitoids of P. kellyanus was found. Fruit scars due to thrips were in maximum proportion in lemon orchard in Arsuz (6.9, 4.1 and 2.8 % respectively, in 2009, 2010 and 2011) and mandarin orchard fallowed this. P. kellyanus adults were found on 5 plant species belong to 5 family.
