Measurement of problem soving skills of personel who works in eastern region youth and sports province management

This study aims to investigate the problem solving skill levels of personnel working in Eastern Anatolia Region Youth Services and Sports Provincial Directorate. Sample of this research contains totally 166 personnel, 8 (%4,8) of Provincial Director, 45 (%27,1) of Trainers, 114 (68,1) of officers who works in Elazig, Agri, Bingol, Bitlis, Erzincan, Erzurum, Hakkari, Kars, Malatya, Mus, Tunceli, Van, Ardahan ve Igdir city's Youth Services and Sports Provincial Directorate. In the study, a personal information form which consists of six questions and developed by Heppner and Petersen, Problem Solving Inventory was used consisting of 35 questions. The obtained data were analyzed with SPSS. In the findings it was observed that there is not a statistically significant difference in participants, gender, age and work time variables and problem-solving skills mean scores (p>0,05). However, it was observed that there is a statistically significant difference in participant's duty, seniority and education level variables and problem-solving skills mean scores (p<0,05). As a result, the level of problem-solving skills, who served as staff officer of the participants in the sample, is higher than the other participants. At the same time, participants those with 16-20 years of seniority and university (undergraduate)'s problem-solving skills are higher than the other participants. Based on this information, it can be conceivable that a research may do about why manager's and trainer's problem solving skill levels are low and it may be made developing activities on problem solving skill.
