The impact of entegrated logistics relationships on logistics service quality and performance at frozen food sector

Abstract (EN)

Today, the logistics, third-party logistics service, entegrated logisticsservice and frozen food concepts are very new facts. Frozen food sector; whichdoes not have so long history in Turkey and world, especially with the effect oftechnological changes and globalization, has become an important sector incontemprary world trade sector. Because of the features of the frozen food, thelogistics of such products have a big importance. The recent researches showthat; the development trend of logistics in last years and integrated logisticsrelations has a positive effect on the service quality of the firms.In this study, the effect of integrated logistics relations in frozen foodsector on third-party logistics service quality and performance is researchedwith collected datas.This study includes three parts. In the first part, with the teorical approachto the interaction between the integrated logistics relations service quality andits performance, theorical knowledge about the concept of logistics, its historicaldevelopment, logistics funtions, supply change concept, its functions and itsmanagement, third-party logistics concept, service quality and its performance,key variables in performane evaluation and cold chain concept is given in detail.In second part, data about, frozen food sector and its logistics, frozen foodproducts, general position of the world and Turkey sector, target markets andproduct volume and market volume from past to today is shown. In addition,for the next five years of the related sector, the forecasts in the basis of volumeand variables, made by the various research organizations are given. Part threeincludes the aim of the research, the contents and elements of the research andthe research methods.Also, the documents used in frozen food sector logistics are included.These documents, unlike other documents, include only the documents andtechnologies used in frozen food transportation. As last in this part, on-phoneand face to face interviews with frozen food producers and with the employeesin various positions of the third-party logistics service firms are included.Through the knowledge of the result of these interviews, the comments on theview of the third-party logistics service firms to the frozen food sector and onthe view of frozen food producers to integrated logistics service are done.Through the mentioned data and theorical knowledge collected, finalcomments on the third-party logistics service quality and performance ofintegrated logistics relations on frozen food sector in Turkey are made.
