Abstract (EN)

Resneli Niyazi Bey, who became very influential thanks to his efforts during the proclamation of constitutional monarchy, was declared the hero of a period. In his period, he was named "Hero of Freedom" and often received praises. He was welcomed with interest and enthusiasm wherever he visited along with Enver Bey, another important figure of the period. He was one of the most important and boldest men of Committee of Union and Progress in the city of Resne. He was also one of the greatest advocates of the Committee. Although he earned a lot of reputation after the proclamation of constitutional monarchy, he didn't go into politics like Talat Bey and Enver Bey; he chose to retire after 31 March Incident. This study aims to unravel Resneli Niyazi Bey's life in the light of the important incidents of his period. His birth, educational background, military service, his role in the 1908 Revolution and his rebellion against the state for this case are the primary subjects of this study. 31 March Incident, Balkan War and his assassination are also mentioned. Resneli Niyazi Bey was one of the greatest dissidents of his period. His dissidence was mostly focused upon Sultan Abdulhamid II [b.1842 d.191; r. 1876-1909], who he thought was responsible for all problems. After Abdulhamid II's abdication following the 31 March Incident, he retired and settled in Resne. He was killed in an assassination in Avlonya Harbour after Balkan War, as he was travelling to Istanbul. Keywords: Ahmet Niyazi of Resne, 1908 Revolution, Resneli Niyazi Palace, 31 March Incident
