The socio-economic impacts of outward migration: The case of Kilis province

Due to the civil war and instability in Syria, millions of Syrians have been forced to leave their homeland. This mass migration movement has brought not only regional dynamics but also a humanitarian crisis on a global scale. Since 2011, Turkey has hosted over 3.5 million Syrians, making it one of the countries most affected by this wave of migration. This study comprehensively examines the issues faced by Syrian refugees, who have come to Turkey in large numbers since 2011 and now constitute a significant population, in the areas of basic needs. The aim of the study is to facilitate a better understanding of the positive and negative effects of migration in Turkey, particularly in the border province of Kilis, which neighbors Syria, by using surveys, descriptive statistics, and compilation methods to analyze the positive and negative impacts of migration following the Syrian civil war.
