Economic growth and foreign trade relationship: The case after 1980

The case that international trade is the reason of development or not has been one of the most researched matters of recent years. Especially after 1980, country economics lived a structural change due to applied industrial politics which depended on globalizational movements. For this reason, in the work ?Foreign Trade and Economical Development Relation: Turkey Example After 1980?, the relation between foreign trade and economical development has been tried to be investigated.Using the data of importations, expotations and GDP of 1987-2007, a reasonal relation between data happens or not has been researched. After making monotony analysis of data, an expanded Dickey-Fuller unit root test was carried out. Then the reasonal relation between changeables due to Granger Causality Analysis has been investigated.According to the findings, there is a causality running, one side production from GDP to exportation, from importation to exportation. Not only the demand in the country but also answers to the demand from abroad. Besides the dependence of exportation to abroad countries is continued. With the intermediate goods and investment goods provided from abroad, production and exportation is made.
