Abstract (EN)

International trade is inherently complex and challenging as it impacts individuals and institutions across diverse geographies. International institutions and organizations such as the World Trade Organization (WTO), the World Customs Organization (WCO) and the United Nations (UN) contribute to the facilitation of foreign trade by conducting studies on legislative regulations, technological infrastructure studies, common transportation programs, guarantees and assurances. The purpose of this study is to examine Türkiye's position among OECD countries using the DEA method, taking into account the studies on facilitating foreign trade by countries. For this purpose, two outputs were determined: Customs Transactions Performance Index and Ease of Doing Business Index. Four input variables were determined: GDP, Foreign Direct Investments/Net Inflows, Trade Openness, Political Stability and Absence of Violence/Terrorism. In the study where the output-oriented CCR model developed by Charnes, Cooper, Rhodes (CCR) and the BCC model developed by Banker, Charnes, Cooper (BCC) were examined together, Türkiye was referred to by Israel, South Korea, Luxembourg and New Zealand. As a result of the analysis, it is evaluated that Türkiye will have an effective structure if it makes regulations in the areas of Customs Transactions Performance and Ease of Doing Business.
