Foreign trade financing methods and a research on financing problems faced by exporters in Turkiye

As a result of liberal economic policies of Turkey, a rapid international expansion started and export activities accelerated. In order to increase exports; companies, Eximbank, exporters unions, related public institutions, banks and financial institutions are working to fulfil their duties. All of these parties may experience various problems during these activities. Related problems can be classified under subgroups such as; global, country and business-related, personnel and technological insufficiency, access to financial resources and the multiplicity of legislation / bureaucratic procedures. In this context, it was tried to determine the problems and offer solutions by making use of expert's opinions through in-depth interview techniques. In addition, a quantitative analysis of USD/TL and Euro/TL exchange rates, import figures, Turk Eximbank loans, export factoring volumes and the relationship with real effective exchange rate was performed in order to determine the effect of exports based on related financial data via correlation analysis. As a result of the analyses and evaluations carried out; practical solutions have been introduced in order to solve the various problems faced by the exporters and increase the export volumes.
