Abstract (EN)
The primary objective of this research, encompassing the title "Figurative Abstraction in Painting within the Context of Expressionist Tendencies," is to understand the expressionist approaches that emerged in the 19th and 20th centuries, particularly those evolving in contrast to Impressionism, aiming to grasp the tendencies that emphasize the inner emotions of the artist beyond what is visibly present in art. In these approaches, it is crucial for the artist to convey their experiences and subconscious impressions onto their works without interpreting them from a subjective perspective. The artist aims to reflect their experiences and subconscious impressions while creating their works. The research delves into how artists focusing on figurative images abstract and analyze their inner experiences through figurative objects. Furthermore, the study attempts to examine the expressionist approach of artists and how they express their inner worlds. The expressionist understanding is a narrative where the artist finds their subjective expression. Figurative painting is one of the forms of expressionist expression, enabling the artist to develop a unique language in their works. The artist reflects traces of their inner impulses in their paintings during the abstraction and expression stages. The research focuses on analyzing figurative expressions during the process of pictorial abstraction, emphasizing the reflection of internal elements in the artist's work and examining abstract expressionist influences within a pictorial framework. This study highlights the connections between the abstraction processes of artworks and the inner worlds of the artists, aiming to investigate and interpret the details supporting the personal production process along with the expressionist understanding. This research focuses on examining the evolution of artistic movements influenced by Expressionism, starting from the inception of Expressionism and concentrating on understanding the impact of abstraction within Abstract Expressionism and New Expressionism. To comprehend this, the historical and fundamental characteristics of expressionist movements have been explored, and the artistic evolution of abstract expressionist influence has been researched, with special mention given to movements such as Fauvism, Dadaism, and Surrealism, which were influential during the emergence of abstract expressionism. Qualitative research methods have been employed in the study, with analyses conducted on the works of prominent artists engaged in figurative abstract works within an expressionist context to limit the scope of the study.
