Rooti̇ng and culturi̇ng of purple flower Rhododendron ponticum L. at the greenhouse environment in Duzce

The ever-growing ornamental plant market in the world creates new employment areas and contributes to the world economy. Although Turkey is in a significant logistics region, it cannot supply necessary plants to Central Asia and other new markets. The rhododendrons which grows along the coastline of the Black Sea Region has an important place in our country. In our forests, it is generally spread in shade and damp places under the trees. While the rhododendrons have been used in many countries for park and garden applications, the production and use of it has not received the necessary attention. In this study, it is aimed to produce Rhododendron ponticum L. (purple flowering rhododendron) plant to the market and bring economy of ornamental plant in Turkey. With the samples of soft cutting samples taken from 0-500 meters 500 to 1000 meters, 1000 to 1500 meters from the Western Black Sea Region, The production of Rhododendron ponticum L (Purple flowering rhododendron) scion has been tried as fast and economically as possible by IBA and IAA hormones 1000 ppm, 2500 ppm, 5000 ppm doses, at Düzce University Campus, in fully automated greenhouse environment. Callus formers, root, dead cutting and ones remained green have been identified. The most common rooting hormone dose effect was observed at 0-500 elevations and 5000 ppm IBA and 5000 ppm IAA. Variability has been observed depending on IBA and IAA doses and elevations.
