Analysis of user satisfaction level of Düzce Melensu Park

Urban green spaces, which are a part of the aesthetic and architectural structre of cities; One of the important components in terms of improving the guality of urban life is urban parks. In addition to the opportunity to stay alone with nature, city parks allow people to participate in games, hiking, sporthing, cultural and social activities, whit the features they offer. City parks are effective in determining activity opporttunites, area and accessibility of the area, user density and satisfaction levels. In this study, Melensu Park located in Mergiç district of Düzce province was determined as the study material. Observations and user surveys in the parking area were determined as methods in order to examine user satisfaction in the city park. For the survey, a questionnaire including guestions about the socio-demographic characterizes of the users, usage areas of the users, user satisfaction and equipment elements were applied. The data were analyzed whit SPSS (Statistical Package Program for Social Sciences) program. The activities of the users in the park during the use of the park as it is the first and only city park in Düzce, it is conclued that they are generally satisfied whith the park area, but the noise, security, clean liness and maintenance are disturbed in the park area. In line white the findings and observations obtained from the study, solutions were proposed for effective and sustainable use of the city park.
