Abstract (EN)
In recent years, e-commerce has attracted attention as an important growth and transformation tool in the Turkish economy. The development of internet technologies and digital platforms has helped small and medium-sized enterprises to access the global market more easily by overcoming geographical and physical boundaries. In this way, businesses have not only been limited to local markets but also gained the opportunity to compete internationally. The new job opportunities offered by e commerce have contributed to the reduction of unemployment in Turkey and have supported economic growth especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. The aim of the research is to analyze the economic effects of the e-commerce sector in Turkey, technological innovations and customer experiences. This study was conducted using semi-structured interviews to examine the contributions of e-commerce to issues such as creating employment, encouraging digitalization and opening up to international markets. The findings show that e-commerce has significantly positive effects on the Turkish economy. In particular, it was determined that e-commerce led to an increase in employment in the logistics and cargo sector and positively affected general employment. This study, which reveals that e-commerce requires strengthening Turkey's digital infrastructure and improving legal frameworks, also points out that the digitalization process should be accelerated. The results of the study reveal that e commerce not only supports economic growth, but also encourages innovative thinking and digital transformation. The study comprehensively examines the contributions of e commerce to the Turkish economy and sheds light on potential future developments. Supporting and developing e-commerce will increase Turkey's competitiveness in the global market and will be an important tool for sustainable economic growth. Therefore, strengthening the digital infrastructure and making appropriate legal arrangements will allow e-commerce to become more widespread and be used effectively.
