Abstract (EN)
SUMMARY This research has been made on parents who live in Ankara and Kırşehir to determine parents expectations from preschool education and to what extent the applications in preschool education centres meet these expectations. Both in Kırşehir and Ankara, twelve public and private preschool education centres connected to the Ministery of Education and, three hundred and fifteen parents whose children are attending to these preschools have taken place in that research. The number of subjects in both cities firstly have been grouped according to the number of preschool students and then this number has been grouped again according to the number of students in public or private preschools. The questionaire has been prepared with the hypothesis that the cities parents live and the expectations of parents whose children attending public or private preschools both affect the fulfillment of parents expectations equally. Also, the questionaire has been prepared in the light of a pilot study and expert opinion. It has been applied by the researcher herself, in two parts; one of them includes a personal information form which determines the cities where the parents live and the type of the teaching centres, and the second part includes a scale of five degrees which will determine the expectations of parents from preschool education. Consequently, it has been discovered that there is no difference between Kırşehir and Ankara considering the parents expectations or the degree of fulfillment of these expectations.
