Abstract (EN)
Modern linguistic terms have attracted the attention of linguists, and the concepts of conjunction and text coherence are one of them. In this regard, scientists have developed various theories to prove their thoughts on the subject. Starting from the definition of a linguistic system, this thesis examines the meaning of coherence and conjunction. It then moves on to the sentence structures of Greek scholars, production theorists and Arabic linguists to discuss the definition of text and its standards. Next, it discusses the pioneering of text coherence by scholars of Islamic heritage and the contributions of linguists to the term, detailing different linking devices (e.g. reference, alternation, deletion, repetition, lexical cohesion) that strive to prove the coherence of texts. The linguistic and terminological meaning of each tool is explained and illustrated with examples from the Qur'an and Arabic poetry. In order to approach the reader and the recipient, the study then elaborates on the definition of the conjunction in linguistics, the explanations of this term in our ancient and modern linguists, and its function and means by comparing it with the definitions of Western linguists. Along with the description of each tool, the linguistic and terminological meaning is given, and the scholars' views on the tool and its functions are explained. It then moves on to the analysis to apply the concept to two conversations and a book. The thesis provides an overview before the speech description and analysis, and the theoretical part is supported by practical examples. Keywords: Arabic language, Sentence, Text, Textual cohesion, Conjunction.
