Crime and penalty of theft according to Abû Hanîfah

In the thesis called ?Crime and Penalty of Theft according to Abû Hanîfah?, we deal both with crime and penalty of theivery in the Islamic Criminal Law, and with what are the conceptions of Abû Hanîfah pertaining to these matters.Hence, the study consists of one preamble and two chapters.In the preamble, we shed, though in a general framework, light on the life of Abû Hanîfah and his basic ideas concerning Islamic Law. Furthermore, the study gives a glimpse of the nature and historical articulation of thievery and penalty for it.In the first chapter, we discuss in details ?Crime and Penalty of Theft in the Islamic Criminal Law? and define what ?crime? and ?penalty? is in Islamic Law.In the second chapter, we further to concentrate on the circumstances of crime of theft and penalty for it, in accord with the jurisprudential outlook of Abû Hanîfah. At the same time, the study aims at exploring other ideas of Islamic lawyers in a comparative manner.
