Edition criticism of Ebu'l-Bekâ el-Kefevî's Şerhu Kasîdeti'l-Bürde

In our study, we have two main works. The first is Imam Busiri's Kasîde-i Bürde and the second is Ebu'l-Bekâ el-Kefevî's commentary on this work, titled "el-ʿUdde ʿinde Külli Şidde." Kasîde-i Bürde is a panegyric poem praising Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The poem consists of 161 couplets and is divided into ten main sections: 1. Introduction (Couplets 1-12): The poet expresses his deep love for Prophet Muhammad and emphasizes the significance of this love. 2. Evil of the Self (Couplets 13-28): This section describes the evils of the human self and the harms of following its desires. 3. Love for the Prophet (Couplets 29-58): It is stated that Prophet Muhammad is the most exalted being deserving of praise. 4. Birth of the Prophet (Couplets 59-77): This part narrates the birth of Prophet Muhammad and the events that occurred during his arrival into the world. 5. Intercession Authority (Couplets 78-87): The poet expresses that the prayers of Prophet Muhammad are accepted by Allah and that he has the authority for intercession in the Hereafter. 6. The Quran (Couplets 88-104): The section emphasizes that the Quran is the sole guide and source of guidance for Muslims. 7. The Night Journey (Mi'raj) (Couplets 105-117): It describes the Mi'raj miracle and the close relationship between Prophet Muhammad and Allah. 8. The Prophetic Jihads (Couplets 118-139): The poet discusses the Prophet's battles and his exemplary role for the Muslim community. 9. Forgiveness and Intercession (Couplets 140-153): The themes of seeking Allah's forgiveness and Prophet Muhammad's intercession are explored. 10. Prayer and High Status (Couplets 154-161): The final section focuses on the high rank of Prophet Muhammad and his intimate relationship with Allah. In the commentary section, the terms and concepts within the couplets are analyzed from the perspectives of syntax, grammar, and rhetoric, and necessary explanations are provided. The rhetorical elements in the couplets are briefly mentioned without detailed analysis. Sometimes, the commentary covers various related fields of knowledge that are somewhat relevant to the main topic.
