Abstract (EN)

Ecballium elaterium has wideiy in theof sinusitis in Turkîsh folk medicine, Cucurbitacin B hasas îhe prineipletor antiinflammatory effect, The aim of thisis to increase cocyrbifacin B content in £ elaterium byceli culture techniques, Callus cultures werefrom the stemon MS mediumwrthgrowth1 mg/l BA, 0,5 mg/l NAA (medium 1), 1 mg/l BA, 0,1 mg/l NAA (medium 2, thefirst subculture calius of medium 2), and 2 mg/l 2,4-D, 1 mg/I(medium 3). Suspension cultures werein medium 2 from medium 1, 2and the first subcuitureof mediurn 2; in medium 4 (1 mg/l 2,4-D, 0.5 mg/l Kînetîn) from medium 2 and 3As eucurbitacîn B could not be determined in celi suspension cultures, than addition of elicitorsand the effect of elieitor concertration and addition time on cuourbîtacîn B formatîon was investîgated, Yeast extract, metliyi jasmonate and potassium dihydrogen phosphateas elicitors and they haveeucurbitacîn B contents signifîeantly, When methyl jasmonate was used, the maxirnum cucurbitacin Bwere 6.138,andmg/I and were found in medium 1, the firstof medium 2 (on the day of înoculatton, 200 pM) and medium 2 (on day 8, 50 (iM), respectively, in this study, theeucurbitacîn B yields waswithof to 340 mg/l inZ on day 12 (8.453 mg/l). These that the addition ofto Eceli couldcucurbitacin B production.
