The Effects of using learning strategies on student success at the University of Gaziantep

This study which has been carried out at the preparatory section of the University of Gaziantep is an attempt to investigate the relationship between teaching learning strategies to students and their effect in students' success afterwards. A questionnaire of 26 items was administered to 161 students at the beginning. Later on, 50 students who were given a pre-test at the beginning and a post-test at the end of the study were instructed for forty hours towards the end of the second term of the academic year 1997-1998. The t-test was conducted to research the relationship between the effect of the teaching of learning strategies and students' success. A statistically significant relationship was found.
