Abstract (EN)

VI ABSTRACT Benchmarking, was translated as "kıyaslama" in Turkish, means learning of organizations from eachother. first, this approach was used by Xerox firm which produces bureau materials. Robert Camp has highly contributed to development of this approach. Furthermore, Watson, Karlöf, Östblom, Evans etc. have necessary cotributions to the benchmarking concept for it to be accepted as an important management approach. Benchmarking's application aspect improved before its theoric aspect. The studies related to benchmarking in education organizations are newly. Benchmarking can be used in education organizations like other organizations. Variable enviroment conditions wants to change rapidly for education organization. For digness from traditional propositions and achieve new educational ideas must be used to benchmarking and accelerate the adoptation time. The application of benchmarking in education sector is new. These aims can be arranged five general title: 1. Benchmarking as a problem-solving tool in education, 2. Benchmarking as a tool for adopting learning organization in education, 3. Benchmarking as a tool for starting competition among education organizations, 4. Benchmarking as measurement instrument in education, 5. Benchmarking as a tool for facilitating change in education organizations. Benchmarking, can be used in domestic education institutions and beneficial results could be gained. Benchmarking can be used either to make a comparison between domestic education institutions or between domestic and foreign education institutions. These applications can be maintained by National Education Minestry.
