Protocol in educational administration

Throughout the history, people who live together have formed some rules both to fix their relationships and to solve conflicts among themselves. These rules have been applied in the way not only are valid in one society but also are valid in the relationship with other countries and states. Therefore, diplomacy and protocol concepts have come to light. Rules which are applied in society and daily life are called as "social behaviour rules" and the rules which are applied in public spheres such as formal meetings, ceramonies and invitations are called as "protocol rules". The most important problems and conflicts in protocol have always been about priority. Every person who has a title has considered that his or her institution is more significant than other institutions. This understanding sometimes cause protocol crisis between countries and states. Therefore, the importance of awareness about how protocol, etiquette and good manners works in different countries increases day by day. In today's world, especially in business areas, it is emphasized the importance of applying rules about protocol, etiquette and good manners. Schools of etiquette which are given education related to protocol rules have been opened in many different countries especially in USA. The number of these schools and courses and seminars given education about social behaviour rules day by day. Many institutions try to provide their staff with the opportunity of being kind and polite people who have good manners by sending them these kind of schools and courses. In schools as an organisational institutions; that the principals, vice principals, teachers, students, parents and even the staff who are responsible for assistant services have knowledge about these rules and they apply these rules has great importance. This research is related to the importance and being applied of protocol, etiquette and good manners in education and education administration. Many kind of sources in many different culteres has been analysed with this aim. As a result, it is understood that protocol, etiquette and good manners' being learned and being applied by administrators of education, principals, their assistants, school staff, students who will be adults in the future and their parents has great importance. It has come to the conclusion that the education about these rules should be given in schools in order not to bring up individuals without politeness, good manners, elegancy, on the contrary; in order to bring up a generation who is respectful and who know where, when and how they should behave.
