Ibn Amīru Hāj's linguistic views in the context of his work Ehāsin Al-Mehāmil fī Sharhi Al-ʿAwāmil

One of the scholars who wrote works in the field of grammar is Ibn Emîru Hâc. The importance of his work for the field is undeniable, as it is a commentary on the work ʿAvâmil, which has been taught in madrasas for many years. The subject of this research is Ibn Emîru Hâc's grammar methodology, centered on his work Ehâsinü'l-mehâmil fî şerhi'l-ʿAvâmil. In conducting this research, we sought answers to questions such as why the author wrote the work, what method he followed in writing it, what stance he took toward linguistic disputes, what method he followed for citation, and to what extent he was influenced by which linguistic school. Many works written in the field of grammar are notable for their voluminous structure and detailed content. On the other hand, although the author's work is relatively short in terms of volume, it deals with the topics it addresses in a profound and explanatory manner. In this respect, the work occupies a unique position in classical nahiv literature and has a special value in terms of the author's contributions to nahiv science. For this reason, this study provides information about Ibn Emîru Hâc's scientific personality and examines his contributions to the science of grammar within the framework of his work using qualitative research methods such as document analysis, explanation, and interpretation techniques. This study aims to evaluate Ibn Emîru Hâc's understanding of language and comprehensively reveal his linguistic approach. As a result, it has been determined that Ibn Emîru Hâc aimed to present the rules of grammar in a concise manner by adopting the principle of expressing a lot of meaning with few words in his work, that he benefited most from the Qur'an when providing evidence for the rules of language, that he adopted the views of the Basra school more, and that he referred to the views of linguists such as Sîbeveyhi, Müberred, Ibn Malik, Zemahshari, and Farra.
