Abstract (EN)

This research was conducted at Research Field, Faculty of Agriculture University of Tekirdag Namık Kemal in 2019 and 2020. The experiment was designed in randomized complete plot design with three replications. In this study, it was aimed to determine the effects of spring and winter sowing on seed yield and quality traits of safflower under Tekirdağ ecological conditions. The nine cultivars of safflower (Dinçer, Balcı, Linas, Olas, Göktürk, Olein, Asol, Hasankendi and Koç) was used as a material of this research. In the study emergence days number, plant height, branch number, head number, number of seeds per head, head diameter, flowering days number, maturity days number, seed yield, 1000 seed weight, hull ratio, oil content, protein content, oil yield, linoleic and oleic acid content were investigated. According to the results of the research, it was determined that safflower varieties sown in winter had higher seed yield than spring sown varieties and the average seed yield of winter sown varieties was 128,96 kg/da. It was also determined that the oil content was higher in spring sowing (34,49%).
