Abstract (EN)

In this study, canola meal and canola oil obtained from different factories in Trakya Region (Edirne, Tekirdağ and Kırklareli) and canola seeds obtained from farmers engaged in canola cultivation in the same region and canola oils obtained by expeller (cold pressing) method were used. The methods of obtaining canola meals and oils obtained by extraction and cold pressing in terms of macro and micro nutrients as well as fatty acid components were compared. When the crude nutrient contents of canola meal obtained by extraction and expeller method were evaluated statistically, it is seen that there are significant differences between them (P˂0.01). While the crude protein content obtained by cold pressing technique canola meal was up to 22.79 %, this rate solvent extraction technique was up to 39.87 %. In addition, the concentrations of linolenic acid, total carotene, α-tocopherol, Ɣ-tocopherol and 𝜎-tocopherol were higher in the cold pressed meal (P<0.001). In conclusion, this study proved that high quality of canola meal and oils can be produced by the cold pressing technique; this meal and oil can be used in industries such as the food and organic animal feeding.
