Abstract (EN)

Because of the numerous properties that aluminum alloys possess, the application fields and depending on that, the variety of forming methods have increased rapidly today. Extrusion method is one of the most important of those methods.It is known that the extrusion method has a very wide range of application field today. With the help of new techniques developed ,extrusion parameters and consequently the quality of product has been improved. The studies on parameters for following aspects are still in progress; improving the material flow, decreasing the extrusion forces, achieving quality products, manufacturing the complicated profiles and lowering the costs of this system.In this thesis study, general information about extrusion has been introduced and some information about aluminum and its alloys has been presented. After the introduction of aluminum material characteristics and basics of extrusion process,the research about the main study subject of this thesis; the effects of extrusion parameters on materials, has been undertaken.The extrusion parameters must be strictly checked and applied in order to produce parts in required dimension sensitivity, mechanical and physical conditions.It is known that there are a large number of parameters that effect extrusion process. Clearly it is not quite possible to check all these parameters at once. However some of the parameters that have extremely important effect on the process have been studied in this thesis.
