Abstract (EN)

The Ibadi sect witnessed significant political and intellectual movements from the mid-1st to the late 3rd century AH, spanning a vast region from Oman in the East to North Africa in the West. Emerging during the early Islamic period, the sect maintained close ties with various political structures and social movements. The activities of early leaders and sectarian divisions played a crucial role in shaping Ibadi identity. During its expansion, the sect's interactions with local authorities, political struggles, and their impact on intellectual thought are analyzed. The development of its theological and legal doctrines is assessed in the context of its engagement with other Islamic currents of the time. The study sheds light on the political and intellectual dynamics of the Islamic world during this formative period.
