Investigation of streptococci in fish caught from region of elaziğ city sewage discharged into keban dam lake

For this; livers,gills and guts specimens of 127 different fish were taken and to growth bacterial colonies, Todd-Hewitt broth and Columbia agar were used. After that every 30 (%36,1) of 83 isolates weredetermined as gram positive cocci. Obtained Gram positive 30 cocci were applied a series of tests asCatalase, Haemolysis, growth in % 6,5 NaCl, growth in Bile-Aesculine agar and acid fromcarbonhidrates.As a result, 83 microorganisms were isolated from 127 fish caught from Koçkale Region ofKeban Dam Lake and 5 (% 3,9) of 83 microorganisms were Streptococcus faecalis.Because Streptococci causes important diseases both humans such as endocarditis, intraabdominal abscess, urethral problems, wounds, decubitus infections, meningitis, pneumonia,septicemia and fish should be taken into consideration.
