Abstract (EN)

With the increasing population in today's world, the demand for energy has also risen. The most fundamental source widely used in residences, public and private workplaces, vehicles, the manufacturing sector, industry, and industrial establishments is electricity. Nowadays, many renewable and non-renewable energy sources are converted into electricity because electricity is an energy that is easy to transmit and distribute. However, its transmission from the point of generation to the final point of use carries various risks. The electricity transmission and distribution sectors are hazardous and risky for workers. Therefore, occupational health and safety issues should be taken into consideration for employees. A hazard refers to any factor present in the working environment or coming from an external source that has the potential to cause harm. Risk, on the other hand, is the probability of this hazard occurring and the severity of its impact. Risk assessment or analysis involves evaluating hazards and risks to determine whether the risk is tolerable. For this reason, risk assessment is crucial, and it is recommended to be conducted with great care at every stage. The more risks are minimized, the lower the probability of any adverse event occurring, ensuring a safer working environment. Occupational health and safety in the electricity distribution sector is critically important both to protect workers' lives and to ensure business continuity. An effective OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) management system, supported by training, inspections, and technological innovations, can prevent workplace accidents and contribute to the creation of a safer working environment.
