Abstract (EN)

Occupational health and safety nowadays is not only the most important problem of Turkey but also of the world. With the increasing population, the need for energy has also increased, which has necessitated an increase in the capacity of production, distribution and transmission lines. Moreover, security requirements are increasing day by day with the development of international technology. In addition to the risks of over-voltage, over-current, capacitive and inductive voltage in transmission and distribution lines that form the components of high-voltage and very high-voltage facilities, at transformer centres and at poles, of falling from the pole, of explosion, of fire, of electric shock, etc., employees can also face social problems. Equipments like cutters, disconnectors, insulators, surge arresters, fuses, arcing horns and protection conductors, etc. protect facilities against over-current and over-voltage risks. In addition, grounding is a very important element for all facility components. Fulfilment of grounding and monitoring of power transformers, transmission lines, poles and transformer buildings is required. Alongside these safety precautions taken at the facilities, there are some precautions that employees should take. In this study, the risks that employees may face were examined and the measures to be taken were evaluated. When necessary measures are provided both on an enterprise and employee basis, the number of occupational accidents and the number of fatal occupational accidents will be reduced at high and very high-voltage power facilities.
