Abstract (EN)

Considering economic conditions and increasing fuel-oil prices, the use of fossil-fuel powered exhaust vehicles, which increase our quality of daily life has decreased day by day and interest in electric vehicles has started to increase. Permanent magnet synchronous machines, which have high power density, high efficiency, low cost and easy controllability attributes used in these vehicles, have become the most used machine type. In the thesis study, solutions were searched to design problems in permanent magnet synchronous machine, which is widely used for electric vehicles. The main problems in this kind of machine are the amount of magnets, torque ripple and cogging torque. In the novel created design, the position of the magnets on the rotor was redesigned with the magnetic field shifting (MFS) technique have one side single-layer and the other side double-layer for torque ripple. The standard stator structure was changed and single and multiple numbered slot structures were used in the stator for cogging torque. In this way, a novel asymmetric permanent magnet synchronous machine topology with low cost, high torque, high efficiency, 57 slots/8 poles, designed to obtain high efficiency from the amount of magnets, and the stator topology was brought to a structure that would reduce cogging torque, was designed. Finite Element Method (FEM)-based ANSYS Maxwell program was used to simulate the machine model designed for the thesis study.
