Effect of Industry 4.0 applications on production processes: The case of Torun Bakır Alaşımları ve Tic. A.Ş.

Today the technological advances of the ongoing globalization of production and the movement for many years depending on the model, with the removal of the borders between the countries, expected or unexpected sudden changes occurring in each area of production is reflected in the forms, as reflected in the consumer demands and expectations. Therefore, companies should be able to adapt to the changes by making the best use of the opportunities offered by technology in order to respond to consumer requests and needs instantly, this leads to the fact that companies should be flexible and agile. The starting point of this research is to emphasize the importance of concepts such as Industry 4.0 and Lean Production, Six Sigma, which are important in reducing costs to minimum levels and ensuring quality service delivery in the face of difficulties faced by companies in a highly competitive environment. In accordance with the purpose of this work, the manufacturing sector was determined as the universe of the study, additionally Torun Bakır Alaşımları ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi which is among the top 250 companies in the ranking of Turkey's 500 largest Industrial Enterprises and Exporters' Associations operating in the manufacturing industry, was determined as the universe of this pattern. The findings of the study were reached by using qualitative research technique from research techniques in social sciences, semi-structured interview technique from qualitative research techniques. As a result of the research, it was found that the company continues, activities as a company open to change and innovation in relation to Industry 4.0 and Lean production approaches and acts changeoriented. The findings obtained from the study are consistent with the literature. Key Words: Industry 4.0, Production Management, Lean Processes
