Employee comfort in industrial buildings

Since industrial buildings are mostly perceived as buildings containing only machines, they are counted apart from accustomed areas of architecture such as dwelling, trade, education, culture and sport buildings. Aesthetical worries, for industrial buildings in organized regions, rural areas or found outside the urban areas are not deemed as primary design input because of their functions. From past to present, production and machine terms in these constructions become first priority in architectural planning. Employee comfort and machine- production analysis are not designed together. Production in industrial buildings increasing with Industrial Revolution, is discussed prior to human factor and it reveals employee comfort problem. Comfort problems for employees that need to be solved in the design stage of industrial buildings are not solved, production of machines precedes employee comfort. The necessity and comfort of employees in industiral structures are disregarded. In this study, the alteration of industrial buildings and employee comfort are analyzed from before the Industrial Revolution till today. Comfort parameter of employees are stated and according to these parameters employee comfort is observed in Industrial Revolution. Industrial architectural study alters depending on the manner of production. This study aims to observe the alteration employee comfort according to the change of place.
