Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to evaluate hearing levels and individual noise sensitivity in workers exposed to industrial noise. With increasing industrialization, individuals working in production facilities are exposed to high levels of noise, which can cause both hearing loss and psychological and physiological disorders. In this context, 50 participants, one worker and the other control group, aged between 18 and 70, were included in the study. Hearing assessments were performed using pure tone audiometry, speech audiometry, and the Weinstein Noise Sensitivity Scale for measuring noise sensitivity. According to the results of the study, significant deteriorations were observed in the hearing thresholds of individuals in the worker group, especially at high frequencies, compared to the control group. In addition, it was determined that hearing thresholds increased with age and noise-induced hearing loss increased. However, no statistically significant relationship was found between Weinstein scores and hearing levels. The findings of the study reveal the effects of industrial noise on hearing health and provide important data that will guide the development of occupational health policies.
