Abstract (EN)
The primary purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between Enneagram temperament types and attachment styles. The second aim is to examine whether Enneagram temperament types and attachment styles differ according to demographic variables. The sample of the study was selected using convenience sampling and consisted of 282 individuals, 189 females and 93 males. Data on enneagram temperament types were collected using the Enneagram Personality Scale (Subaş & Çetin, 2017) and data on attachment styles were collected using the Three Dimensional Attachment Styles Scale (Erzen, 2016). The quantitative research method was used in accordance with the problem statements of the study. The sub-dimensions of the Enneagram Personality Scale are Type 1, Type 2, Type 3, Type 4, Type 5, Type 6, Type 7, Type 8, and Type 9; and the sub-dimensions of the Three Dimensional Attachment Styles Scale are secure attachment, anxious attachment, and avoidant attachment. A significant gender difference was found in the avoidant attachment sub-dimension of attachment styles according to gender. The research data were analyzed using Pearson correlation analysis, independent groups t-test, and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). According to the findings obtained from the research ; A significant positive meaningful relationship was found between type 1 sub-dimension of Enneagramm temperament types and anxious attachment sub-dimension of attachment styles, between type 2 and secure attachment sub-dimension, between type 3 and secure attachment sub-dimension, between type 4 and secure attachment sub-dimension, between type 5 and avoidant and anxious attachment sub-dimensions, between type 6 and anxious attachment sub-dimension, between type 7 and secure and avoidant attachment sub-dimensions, between type 8 and avoidant attachment sub-dimension and between type 9 and secure attachment sub-dimension. According to the gender variable; Type 1, Type 3, Type 5, Type 7, and Type 8 sub-dimensions of the Enneagram temperament types differ significantly according to gender. The results of the study were discussed in the context of the literature and suggestions for future research were presented. Keywords: Personality, temperament, Enneagram, attachment styles.
