Abstract (EN)
The aims of this study are (1) to perform change detection that relies on satellite images (SPOT images of 1989, 1995, 2001 ve 2007) on the coast of Erdemli (Mersin) for the period from 1980's to present and (2) predict future urban development in the light of current urbanization trends. Cellular Automata (CA) based SLEUTH and Markov models were used to project development for 2025. Landscape planning and management proposals were made based on the development projections produced during this study.
