Abstract (EN)
Objective: To investigate the relationship between internet addiction and family functioning in adolescents. Materials and Methods: The study was carried out as descriptive and relational. The sample of the study consisted of 86 students selected among adolescents aged 12-18 who applied to Ege University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Mental Health and Diseases, Adolescent Behavior Disorder Clinic. Results: The average level of internet addiction for adolescents is 32.58±7.76. Participants may be defined as non-symptomatic users when subjected to a general and individual assessment. When an individual evaluation was performed, it was determined that 24 students (27.9%) had limited symptoms, 61 patients (70.9%) had no symptoms and 1 (0.1%) students were pathological internet users. Conclusion: The scores of the adolescents' Internet Addiction Scale and the Family Rating Scale (Child) are negatively weak. Very weak in the negative direction between roles sub-dimension, Too weak in the negative direction between showing the required interest, very weak in the negative direction between the behavior control sub-dimension, There was a very low level of negative correlation between the general functions sub-dimension.
