Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between perceived parental acceptance-rejection, emotional expression and psychological resilience of adolescence. 259 girls and 129 boys, total 388 adolescents between 14-17 years old, currently studying in Toki Cumhuriyet Anatolian High School, Hasan Sabirye Gümüş Anatolian High School, Silivri Kız İmam Hatip, Necip Sarıbekir Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School have participated the survey. As data collection tools, personal information form, Parental Acceptance Rejection Child/Adolescent PARQ (short form) Scale, Emotional Expression Scale, Child and Young Resilience Scale were used. According to the findings, psychological resilience levels, emotional expression levels and perceived parental acceptance- rejection levels of adolescents did not have any statistically significant difference according to variables such as age, having a sibling, child sequence, parental education level; working status of parents, monthly income level. While gender variable did not create a significant difference in psychological resilience levels, perceived paternal hostility levels, undifferentiated rejection levels, absence of emotional support, which is the sub-dimension of emotional expression, were found to create a statistically significant difference. A mid-level positive correlation was found between resilience levels and warmth levels, which are the sub-dimensions of the father form of perceived parental acceptance rejection scale and a mid-level reverse correlation was found between the levels of psychological resilience and paternal hostility, paternal indifference/negligence, and paternal undifferentiated rejection levels. A reverse, strong correlation was found between the emotional expression total levels and the maternal warmth levels, which is the subdimension of the parental acceptance rejection scale. A mid-level, same direction correlation was found between total emotional expression levels and hostility levels, indifference levels, undifferentiated rejection levels, which were the subdimensions of the PARQ paternal scale. A reverse, strong correlation was found between emotional expression total levels PARQ paternal warmth levels. A midlevel, same direction correlation was found between total emotional expression levels and hostility levels, indifference levels, undifferentiated rejection levels, which were sub-dimensions of the PARQ paternal scale. In addition, a reverse, mid-level correlation was found between psychological resilience levels and emotional expression levels. Key words: Psychological resilience, emotional expression, perceived parental acceptance rejection
