Education as an ideological apparatus in the early period of the Turkish Republic

Acording to Althusser state has ideological apparatus which is based on without use of force. This apparatus of state aims to ensure that the way of living that it envisions are accepted by the people. In this sense, according to Althusser, education appears through a practice that contemplates submission to the dominant ideology. In this study, the Republic of Turkey in the early period (1923-1938) has been researched for use as an ideological apparatus of education. Accordingly, in this study, it has been claimed that education is used in the nation-building in the young republic. It is argued that the education is utilized as an ideological apparatus in the light of the examination of texts covering the period in question.
