Abstract (EN)
Man has always been in search for reality. Every field has its own opinion. We can consider this work of Wittgenstein as an effort to understand reality too. In Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus, Wittgenstein tries to find the source of philosophical problems. According to him, all these problems emerge as a result of misunderstanding of the logic of language. According to him, language has no limits. We are capable of expressing nearly anything with a language. However, this leads to different kinds of problems. Since language has the capacity to talk about everything; that is, the things in reality and those that are not. In order to get only the reality, the first thing we need to do is to limit the language to things that are real and stop it from talking about the things that are not present and therefore not real. This is exactly what Wittgenstein tries to do in this work. He limits the language. If we know the limits of language, we can understand what is real and what is imaginary. But how can we determine the limits of language? In order to determine the limits of language Wittgenstein has developed the Picture Theory. This theory is based upon the relationship between the language and the World. According to this theory, there is a common structure between the language and the World. This structure is a logical structure. It is the logical structure through which Language represents the World. In order to understand this representation, Wittgenstein uses the method of analysis. Through this method, language and the World are resolved into their tiniest parts. After which the relationship between each of these parts can be explained. This is the way how World is portrayed. In this portrayal, we see whether there is any equivalent part of the World for every single part of the language. Under normal conditions, all the parts of language must represent every single part of the World. However, this is not the case every time. Language doesn't always show what it talks about. Since it doesn't represent somethings, we cannot believe in the existence of them. According to Wittgenstein, there are things that do not have any equivalency in this World. Metaphysics, ethics and aesthetic are some of them. They go beyond the limits of language. Therefore, we cannot say anything about them. The best act at this stage, is to stay calm and say nothing.
