Traces of painting art and artistic productions in the architecture of the early Islamic period

Islam in the Arabian Peninsula. It is the last of the monotheistic religions that emerged after Muhammad became a prophet in 610 and the holy book, the Quran, was revealed to him. This situation played an important role in the lack of development of painting in the early Muslim Arab society and in the failure to create works specific to the period. With the spread of religion from Arabia to the Middle East, Mesopotamia, Anatolia, Iran, Central Asia, India and China, thanks to dynamics such as conquests, trade and migration, different nations or states began to produce early examples of Islamic arts between 650 and 1100. has been effective. The figurative depictions of this period, when the first works of Islamic painting art, which is a branch of Islamic arts, emerged and began to acquire its characteristic features, are called early Islamic period painting. Islamic painting, which was initially seen to be used as various decorative elements in architecture, began to appear in the binding and interior composition of manuscripts, and in the decoration of different materials such as stonemasonry and tiles. In this study, the art of painting in the architecture of the early Islamıc period will be examined and it will be tried to explain with selected examples who produced the first works in which materials and styles.
