Abstract (EN)

Seismic wave attenuation can be changed with high pressure or structural effects. Determination of the active seismic zones of eastern Anatolia sismodinamik surface features will give valuable information about surface rocks. The study occurred in eastern Turkey between 2000 and 2005 for 109 pieces of data used in the earthquake. In this study, it is aimed to obtain seismodynamics properties, absorption coefficient of rocks and local geological coefficient of Erzincan, Muş and Oltu-Erzurum and its surrounding. Maximum amplitudes of Pg waves were used in order to compute the earthquake magnitude. It is introduced a new magnitude formula and geological coefficient for these areas by using amplitude normalization methods for references values ML=4, so as to correct effects of the magnitudes. In order to estimate the local magnitude, it is assumed a simple linear relationship for amplitude and epicenter distances. In total 180 near-fields earthquake data recorded by Atatürk University Earthquake Research Center (AUERC) were used for the calculations. This model allows the investigation of the effects of variations of seismodynamics properties for different areas. The average attenuation coefficient (?), average quality factor (Q) and average b coefficients were obtained for Erzincan, Muş and Oltu (Erzurum) as 0.015 km-1, 34 and 0.004 respectively.
