The analysis of manners of different branch teachers working in high schools and secondary schools in Koprukoy District of Erzurum towars physical education and sports lessons

Today, the positive effects of physical education and sports on the personality development of the individual are known. It plays a very important role in satisfying the individual's motivation to succeed and in making the individual more positive, more self-confident and more successful towards his / her social environment. Sportsmen who will refer individuals to sports in the society and will provide healthy and correct education are trained in physical education and sports colleges and work as Physical Education Teachers in various regions. In schools, efforts are made to develop students as a whole, and physical education teachers provide physical development. The aim of this study is to reveal the current situation by making an examination of the attitudes of branch teachers working in high schools and secondary schools towards the physical education course and its teacher. The sample of the study consisted of 150 teachers working in high schools and secondary schools in Köprüköy district of Erzurum in 2020-2021. In the study, attitude scale developed by Özkaya (2009) was used as a measurement tool. The scale consists of 41 questions and test reliability was found to be α = 0, 658. These questions include questions to determine the attitude towards the physical education course and its teacher. SPSS package program was used in the analysis of the information data. Frequency distributions, averages, cross tables and chi-square tests were used in the analysis of the research data. When the demographic data of the participants are evaluated; it has been determined that 67.3% of them work at the primary education level, 32.7% of them work in Anatolian High School, 92% of them does not have a closed gym and 58.7% of them has 1 Physical Education Teacher. As a result of the study, it shows that the teachers do not agree with the negative statements about the physical education lesson and they think positively about the physical education lesson.
