Jewelry of Eskişehir-Sivrihisar region

In this research, the raw material used in the production of cebe bracelet and pearly earrings produced in Eskişehir and Sivrihisar, production techniques and model specifications of the products were examined.In the research, the craftsmen of jewelry in Eskisehir and Sivrihisar were consulted, the jewelry that are produced in the region were analyzed and documented with observation forms.The research group consists of five active craftsmen from Eskisehir and one from Sivrihisar. But one of them didn't accept the interview because he didn't want the secret of producing cebe and pearly earrings to be learned. In the context of this research, a questionnaire was developed for the craftsmen. The frequency and the percentage of the information obtained by questionnaire were calculated and stated in table form.The production process of cebe bracelet and pearly earrings was analyzed. In the region, total 29 products such as pearly earrings and 14 pieces of earrings that have been produced by inspiring pearly earrings, 2 rings, 1 bracelet, 1 necklace, 1 pendant, 5 cebe bracelets, 3 cebe necklaces, 1 slipper produced by using cebe weave, 1 cebe printed bracelet were introduced in the research with the prepared observation forms.By the research, the questions;?What are the production stages of pearly earrings and cebe bracelet used in Sivrihisar region, and what are the techniques and tools used in the production of jewelry??, ?What are the motifs used in jewelry??, ?What are the decoration techniques used in the production of pearly earrings and cebe bracelet??,? What is the significance of this jewelry in the region?? are intended to be answered and documented.By the end of this research, it was seen that Sivrihisar is an old settlement, it has been carrying the old civilizations from past to present, so its cultural heritage is very diverse and significant.Craftsmen in Eskisehir and Sivrihisar keep the secret of making cebe and pearly earrings; they think that if they teach this art, they will become unemployed and their profession will be bereaved. It was indicated that if the introduction of pearly earrings and cebe bracelet is provided by domestic exhibitions and fairs, their rate of sales will increase.Geometric motifs were mostly used in traditional jewelry. It was stated that the local producers make their products in their own workshops, and then they sell them to the local people. By the end of this research, it was seen that this jewelry is known by noone except local people and generally it is bought for their brides as a gift.Based on the discoveries of the survey, the suggestions that are produced by the researchers have taken place
