In this area, which was called Phrygian that Phrygian people lived and spoketheir languages ?Phrygian? also this name used from 6. century B.C. to end of Byzantineperiod.Phrygians came to Anatolia in B.C. 1190 from the Balkans, after being demolished ofTroia VII. But they became a political community after B.C. 750. They dominated wholeMiddle and South-east Anatolia during the period of their great king Midas (B.C. 735-695/676). Phrygians, who were a branch of Trak tribe Brygs joined with Anatolian people andfounded a big state.Althoug Phrygians were under attack of an importent culture which was Late Hittite,They constituted theirown particular and Anatolian culture. In addition, they had effected animportant culture like Hellen. Evidence of this culture can easily be recognised from works ofarts of Phrygian people. For example, Herakles, who was a Hero and God, was described on ahorse. Because the horseses were an important situation in Trak culture. In addition, specificto the Phrygian culture, a god was offered as a vow for another god.The tradition of Anatolian people, to deify or consider their masters equal to god, showed its effectness also in Phrygian culture. We can see the evidence of this culture at themonuments which were built by I. Antiochos Epiphanes of Commagene who was aGreek-Pers emperor. This monuments was built by for I. Antiochos Epiphanes themembers at his family, deifyed ancestors, gods of united Pantheon and himself could beadored. The most important monument which was built by I. Antiochos Epiphanes, is in theNemrut Mountain. This monument tells about a shared house that built for his family andwhole gods of the country. And Herakles was the one of the god of the country. We can?t talkabout an effectness by the help of certain evidence between Commagene and Phrygiancultures. But, east culture effectness was the same like the Anatolian people.Herakles? statues bear the local characteristic of Commagene arts, at the same time theyalso bear the arts effecness of Greek culture. Because Herakles the god is taken from theGreek culture to include their local cult. t is the samefor Phrygians who reflected a synthesisof their cultures and the other cultures to their arts.Herakles statues localed in Phrygian region, reflects its period?s formal companents cultcharacteristic and region?s sculpture, Herakles descriptions, like Herakles Farnese, wereformed with very small differences. In this study aims exposing Phrygian culture, contributions of this culture to Anatoliaan the type of Herakles in the region by studying Herakles statues found in Phrygia.
