Abstract (EN)

One of the diseases that is important to follow is Thalassemia, which receives great attention in order to monitor these diseases and know their causes and their relationship to the metabolic functions of vitamin D and their relationship to thyroid diseases. The study also noted that the age of the participants was a statistical significance, as it showed that the group of patients with thalassemia had a lower body mass index than the control group. The weight loss in the patients with this condition was also greater than in the control group. As for white blood cells, platelets and blood, hemoglobin was of great importance as it was originally a diagnostic test for the disease. As for white blood cells, it increased in thalassemia patients, which indicates a decrease in immunity in thalassemia patients, while there was no statistical significance for platelet agglomeration. When Pearson's test was performed, there was an association with hemoglobin, age, weight, platelet count, vitamin D, and erythrocyte sedimentation rate.
