The role of politik skills in the impact of ethical climate on work engagement and i̇nner resignati̇on: The example of public employees

.Today public institutions that are in contact with their employees and share information with them can more easily adapt to the conditions of working life. Personnel in public institutions, which are social systems, must perceive a positive ethical climate in order to perform their work in a healthy manner. Increasing employees' positive perceptions of the ethical climate leads to an increase in work engagement and a decrease in inner resignation. Political skills, on the other hand, are believed to play a mediating role in the relationship between ethical climate and work engagement and a regulating role in the relationship between ethical climate and inner resignation. In this sense, the aim of the study is to determine the mediating role of political skills in the effect of ethical climate on work engagement and the moderating role in the effect of inner resignation. In this context, the research data were obtained with the participation of 423 public employees working in the units of Aksaray Governorate. The results show that there is a positive and significant relationship between ethical climate and work engagement and a negative and significant relationship between ethical climate and internal turnover. The variables interact directly; the SmartPLS 4 program was used to determine the mediator and regulation effect. Accordingly, relationship building ability, one of the sub-dimensions of political skills, was found to have a partial mediating effect in the relationship between ethical climate and the sub-dimensions of work commitment, elan, dedication, and focus. Political skills were found not to play a moderator role in the relationship between ethical climate and internal turnover. In line with the findings obtained, the results were discussed, research limitations were mentioned, and finally suggestions were made.
