Abstract (EN)

Antimicrobial activity of five Euphorbia Extracts species (Euphorbia amygdaloides var. amygdaloides, Euphorbia amyrsinites, Euphorbia helioscopia subsp. helioscopia, Euphorbia characias and Euphorbia paralias) tested against Bacillus subtilis, Enterococcus faecium, Enterococcus faecalis, Enterobacter aerogenes, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Salmonella infantis, Salmonella typhimurium, Salmonella kentucky, Salmonella enteritidis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pseudomonas fluorescens and Candida albicans by using disk diffusion and Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) methods. plant extracts have been found to be effective against only six microorganizm strains (S. aureus, E. faecium, E. faecalis, P. florescens, S. epidermidis, E. coli and C. albicans). Results achieved, Extracts from Euphorbia species inhibit the development of tested microorganisms at different rates, and E. characias collected of three diferant locations of (I, II, III). E. characias III was found to be effective for six microorganisms and ghe highest effect of it was against E. faecium (13 mm) , I and II was effective against E. faecium, S. epidermidis and S. aureus (7-12-33 mm), E. myrsinites, E. amygdaloides var. amygdaloides and E. helioscopia subsp. helioscopia, exhibited antimicrobial activity against E. faecium, C. albicans, S. aureus, and S. epidermidis. E. paralias and showed the highest activity against E. faecium at a 17 mm inhibition zone.
