Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to identify the challenging factors that individuals with physical disabilities have encountered in Transtheoretical model-based exercise change stages scale. And to uncover the relationship with the demographic (age gender, income level, economic situation) characteristics of these difficulties. Method: Quantitative research method was used in the study. A total of 120 physically disabled participants answered the questions in the "Personal Information Form", which includes age, gender, educational status, province where they live and income level, ''Transtheoretical model-based exercise change stages scale'', and "Difficulties Sports Participation Scale for Persons with Disabilities ". Conclusion: There is a direct relationship between the difficulties encountered by physically disabled individuals in participating in sports or making sports a habit between age, gender, income level, province of residence and educational status. (p<0.05) A relationship was found between the stages of regular sports participation in the Transtheoretical model-based exercise behaviour change model in sports participation and the difficulties encountered in sports participation. (P<0.05) SPSS 25 version program was used in the analysis of the data. The conformity of the variables to the normal distribution was examined by analytical methods (Shapiro-Wilk). Parametric test (Anova with independent sample t test) was used where group comparisons were made, and non-parametric test (Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal-Wallis-H test) was applied where assumptions were not met. Dwass Steel Critchlow-Fligner method was used for Kruskal Wallis Post host pairwise comparison. The demographic characteristics of the variables were calculated with the Independent Sample T test and Mann-Whitney test for two independent groups, and the Kruskal Wallis-H test for more than two independent group variables. The relationship between the two variables was examined with the Chi-Square test of independence. The significance level for statistical analysis was accepted as p<0.05
