The Master's Thesis, " Divorce Due To The Irretrievable Breakdown Of The Marital Union", consists of three parts. These are: The Concepts of Family and Divorce, The Irretrievable Breakdown Of The Marital Union, Consequences of divorce due to Irretrievable Breakdown Of The Marital Union In the first part, the concepts of family and divorce will be explained, common thoughts, principles and opinions on divorce will be discussed, the reasons for divorce will be stated. In the second part, we will focus on the irretrievable breakdown of the marital union. The content, scope, legal nature and conditions of this concept will be examined in detail, and issues such as the role of the defect in this cause of divorce and whether the objection is within the scope of abuse of the right will be discussed. In addition, the concept of violence will be explained in detail and some types of violence that affect the irretrievable breakdown that have been the subject of Supreme Court jurisprudence will be discussed. These types of violence will be classified as emotional, economic, sexual, physical, visual and social violence and how these behaviors can affect irretrievable breakdown of the marital union will be examined. The decisions of the Court of Cassation have been systematically analyzed in terms of certain subheadings and factors. In addition, legal analyses were carried out in order to examine the legal dimension of divorce cases. In the third part, the consequences of divorce will be examined.
