Tokat and its region in Evliya Çelebi's Seyahatname (Text-languae review-vocabulary-index)

Evliya Çelebi, one of the most important travelers in the history of the world, collected the information he obtained by traveling the Ottoman geography and various neighboring countries in his 10-volume Seyahatnâme. In addition to the observations he made during these travels, he added his own evaluations to the information he received from oral and written sources. Evliya Çelebi, with his sense of humor and strong descriptions, tried to describe the cities he visited in a simple and understandable language down to the smallest details. In this study, the manuscript copy of Evliya Çelebi's Seyahatnâme registered in the inventory of Topkapı Palace Bağdat Mansion B. 307 (Tarih-i Seyyah) was found. In the 5th volume of Seyahatnâme, the sections about the city of Tokat, dominated by Danishmen, were discussed. In addition, it was tried to determine how the city of Tokat and its surroundings looked from Evliya Çelebi's eyes and the architectural, physical and cultural values of this city.
