Abstract (EN)

Rapidly increasing population, economic conditions and intensive use of technology accelerate the destruction of the environment. Environmental pollution is the degradation of the environment necessary for human life. Due to its economic advantages, landfill is the most common method of solid waste disposal. The purpose of the construction of the sanitary landfills is to protect the underground and surface water quality, to protect the air quality, to generate energy in the gas collection system, to ensure the effective and long-term use of the landfill and to store it. It is based on the principle of generating electrical energy by converting the energy of the waste gas into mechanical energy. In this study, it is aimed to provide electricity between 20-30 megawatts per day to 7-9 thousand households by biogas energy production and energy production from domestic solid wastes in Adıyaman province. It is aimed to produce 4,160,440 m3 of biogas per year from approximately 380-400 tons of organic waste accumulated in the sanitary landfills. The annual amount of solid waste coming out of the landfills is targeted as 146.000 tons and the energy value obtained is 32.956.035 kWh.
